In this compact and cozy city garden in the center of Amsterdam, a multifunctional and high-end outdoor space has been created. By strategically playing with spatial layout, plants and vertical possibilities, the sense of space is extended.

The partially covered terrace has been enhanced with an automated louver system. This allows for maximum use of natural light while also offering the option to fully close the roof. Vertical elements have been placed on both sides, featuring wood and laser-cut panels with a unique pattern. Within the limited space, careful consideration was given to incorporating greenery, creating privacy and a sense of intimacy.

The existing difference in elevation has been used to divide the garden into distinct platforms. These connect seamlessly to each function and create a coherent overall design. Under the canopy, one can enjoy the outdoor kitchen and lounge area, while the dining terrace features an atmospheric fireplace and connects to the sheltered sunken seating area. In the evening, the lighting provides exactly the right ambiance, at any time of day.
